SHIPPING

Does COVID-19 affect shipping?

Currently there are no major shipping delays within the United States. Possible delays of 14-21 days for international shipments can be expected.
Please refer to USPS for more shipping restrictions outside of the US. 

 

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide to several countries outside the United States. Some examples of the most common countries we ship to are:  Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, France, Germany, South Korea, Brazil, Italy, United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland and Mexico.

Please note that due to high shipping costs, international sales are final. International orders may be subject to customers and duty charges which vary on the destination country. These charges are payable by the customer upon arrival and are not included in the original shipping charges.

When will my order ship?

Typically our team fills orders within 1-2 business days of when the order was placed. If the order is placed over the weekend, it will be shipped on the next business days. Peak seasons and sales occasionally push fulfillment to 3-5 business days. 

My order has shipped, when will it arrive?

With standard shipping, your order should arrive between 3-7 business days. International orders may taken between 10 - 21 days and may be subject to delays due to COVID-19.

How can I track my order?

If you choose a shipping method with tracking you will receive the tracking number via email.

My tracking number says that my order has been delivered, but I am not able to locate it. What should I do?

If your shipment status says it's been delivered but you cannot locate your package we first recommend checking places where your parcel may have been left and asking neighbors or housemates. If you are still unable to locate your package we recommend filing a claim with the shipping carrier. 
We work independently with our shipping partners such as UPS, FEDEX and USPS but we are happy to help assist you where we can.

Why is it more expensive to ship an order overseas?

Since we work independently from our shipping partners, we don't set the price for the shipping fees. Shipping fees account for processing and the distance that your package has to travel to reach you. As more affordable shipping options become available we will do our best to make them available to you.

Who pays for duties and taxes?

International shipments may require additional duties & taxes to be paid by the customer at the time of delivery - which are not covered in our shipping rates. Be sure to check with your local postal service or customs office to find out what these fees will be before you place an order. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

I placed an overseas order and tracking says it has been delivered, but I'm not able to locate my item. What can I do?

We recommend taking the tracking number provided and using your local mail providers website to track the parcel as it moves through the postal system within your country. USPS hands off the order to your local delivery facility for delivery once it enters your country. 

SIZING AND PRODUCT INFORMATION

How does your sizing run?

iaera surf runs true to size and does not adhere to any vanity sizing. Please see our sizing chart in with each product description. If you fall between sizes we recommend sizing down for a fit that is most functional in the water. Our garments are meant to stretch and should fit like a second skin.

Where are your products made?

Our cut and sew garments such as our rash guards and bikini bottoms are made in our hometown of San Diego, California. Tees, sweaters and brand gear are screen printed by our in house printer in North Park, San Diego California. 

Are your products eco-friendly?

At iaera surf we do everything we can to create the most eco-conscious products available. This includes using deadstock fabric, fabric made from post-consumer plastic bottles and eco friendly prints that require less water and dye to create. We also cut and sew locally, cutting down the amount of carbon footprint of our products and minimizing waste by allowing us to ensure quality production. 
We have a plastic free shipping process and do not include any plastic for tags. Instead we use a surfboard paracord to tie garment tags to our products. We ship with packaging made of biodegradable & 100% recycled/recyclable materials. We use packaging and shipping materials from Ecoenclose to ensure we are gentle on the environment when shipping our items to you. Are your rash guards upf rated? What does UPF rating mean?

Yes! The fabric in our surfwear are UPF 50+. Like sunscreen, clothing can also protect you from sun damage. Sunscreen and topical products used on the skin use an SPF rating meaning while clothing uses a UPF rating system, which means that it is rated by the fabric’s ability to block UV rays. UPF 50+ is the highest rating a piece of clothing can receive.

Do you sell men's clothing or children's clothing?

Occasionally we sell men's tee shirts and unisex sweaters but at this time we don't have a men's line. We currently do not sell children's clothing but we will in the future. Please check back with us for all your surf and swim needs for the little ones.

How do you pronounce iaera and what does it mean? 

iaera is a latin name pronounced i-air-ah. iaera is a water goddess of greek mythology.
